When’s the right time to schedule my child’s first dental visit?
If your child is old enough to have teeth, they are old enough to develop cavities. As such, their first dental appointment should take place either around the time of their first birthday or shortly after their first tooth has emerged from beneath the gums. It’s essential for them to start getting the care they need to keep their smile healthy early on in life.
What does it mean when a dentist is board-certified?
A board-certified dentist is one who has undergone extra training in a specific field in order to be able to bring their patients higher quality care. To become a board-certified pediatric dentist, one must complete a test set forth by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Additional exams are required to remain board-certified. Dr. Amar is proud to have earned the distinction of being a board-certified pediatric dentist; you can see for yourself the difference that makes when you bring your children to our office for an appointment.
